Denise Silas, owner of Empowered by DS, is truly exceptional. Her energy, authenticity,  and depth of experience create an environment where learning feels both natural and enjoyable. Over the past two years, she has led four sessions with our high school volleyball team, covering topics such as self-confidence, affirmations, goal setting, and personal values—culminating in hands-on activities like creating vision boards.

What sets Denise apart is her ability to go beyond simply presenting information. She designs interactive, engaging experiences that draw everyone into the learning process. Our players weren’t just listening—they were participating, reflecting, and growing.

As a coach, I found her sessions equally impactful. Denise’s thought-provoking questions challenged me to reflect on my own approach to teaching, coaching, and parenting. One of the most meaningful moments came during her values session, when she asked each person to identify the one value they hope to be remembered for. It was a powerful exercise that not only deepened my own self-awareness, but also gave me insight into what truly matters to each of my players—their motivations, character, and long-term goals.

Denise has a unique ability to connect with both teenagers and adults in a meaningful way. I would highly recommend her for any team, organization, or group looking to grow. Anyone who spends time in one of her sessions will leave better, more reflective, and equipped with ideas they can immediately put into practice.
