About Denise
My Background
,Hey everyone! I am Denise Silas, the DS behind Empowered by DS. I am a native of Racine, WI and have resided in DeSoto County for 17 years. I’ve been married over 30 years to my husband Ed and have 2 amazing daughters, Amonie and Alayah. They are the backbone of Empowered by DS.
I have a passionate for empowering and connecting individuals who dare to excel. My mission is to help women go from where they are to where they really want to be, hoping that is where God has called them to be.
In addition to my 13 years as a CPA in Corporate America, I have been in Leadership 27 out of the 30 years in direct sales with Mary Kay. Most recently I launched Empowered by DS with her daughters, expanding to coaching and empowerment beyond the pink bubble.
I am very active in DeSoto County as a member of Brown Missionary Baptist Church, Southaven Chamber of Commerce, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., the Desoto County Business Women and serves on the board of The Arc.
Why Empowered by DS
After the pandemic, I discovered that many women were stuck and struggling with advancing professionally or personally. I decided to expand my mission of empowering women outside of the pink bubble creating an Empowerment Breakfast Series. I also relaunched D.E.C.I.D.E. ( Divas Empowering and Connecting Individuals who Dare to Excel) to give women a community to connect and collaborate.
Empowered by DS offers personal coaching, quarterly empowerment breakfasts, Dinner socials, statement tees, the DECIDE Tribe community and an EmpowerME subscription Box. Connection, collaboration and celebration of Divas while empowering them to exemplify the best version of themselves in the current season is the mission of Empowered by DS.
Over the past year, we have been able to connect over a 100 women whether that be at our EmpowerMEnt Breakfasts, Diva, Dinner & Dialogues, and many more opportunities. The goal in our second year is to double our reach and continue our mission of empowering woMEn.
